“Hello, future wife,” he said, his voice bubbling with glee. “I can't wait to get started on the rest of our lives!”
(That quote though...I died of laughter! 👆)
Welcome to the 3rd day of the When Dimple Met Rishi Blog Tour!
The arranged marriage YA romcom you didn't know you wanted or needed...
Meet Dimple.
Her main aim in life is to escape her traditional parents, get to university and begin her plan for tech world domination.
Meet Rishi.
He's rich, good-looking and a hopeless romantic. His parents think Dimple is the perfect match for him, but she's got other plans...
Dimple and Rishi may think they have each other figured out. But when opposites clash, love works hard to prove itself in the most unexpected ways.
Perfect for fans of Rainbow Rowell, Jenny Han and Nicola Yoon, WHEN DIMPLE MET RISHI is a frothy, funny contemporary romance set at a coding convention in San Francisco over one exciting summer. Told from the dual perspectives of two Indian American protagonists, Dimple is fighting her family traditions while Rishi couldn't be happier to follow in the footsteps of his parents. Could sparks fly between this odd couple, or is this matchmaking attempt doomed to fail?

So, for my portion of the blog tour, I have an extract from the book to share with you all, but before we get to that, I want to share a few reasons as to why I loved this book so much (I'm going to try and keep it short and sweet!)
- The main characters are Indian-American. (I can't tell you how glad I am to see this book breaking YA barriers. I mean, how many books have you seen with a brown girl on the cover?)
- Being British-Indian, I finally found a book where I can truly relate to the characters, especially on a cultural level. (Language. Food. Overbearing - but with good intentions - parents. etc.)
- The cutest and most precious romance ever! (think Stephanie Perkins, but even cuter)
- A+ Bollywood references (written in a way that everyone can understand & enjoy)
- A+ humour throughout the entire book
- Role reversal - I love how Rishi was the hopeless romantic, and Dimple was just like 'Love? The only love I have is for coding.'
- Sex positive (← we need more of this in YA books!)
- Rishi Patel, aka the sweetest, most adorable, hilariously sarcastic love interest. He was by far my favourite character of the book! (Someone please tell me, where do I find myself a Rishi?)
If that's not enough for you to pick up this book, maybe this extract will convince you:
And the book just gets better and better...
I hope you guys enjoyed that extract as much as I did, and if you didn't know, When Dimple Met Rishi is officially out in the UK! So, if you want to read more (of course you do!) don't forget to pick up a copy: Amazon | Waterstones | Wordery
That is it from me now for this blog tour - huge thanks to Rosie at Hodder & Stoughton for inviting me to take part!
Don't forget to check out the rest of the tour:
About the author:
Sandhya Menon was born and raised in India on a steady diet of Bollywood movies and street food, and blames this upbringing for her obsession with happily-ever-afters, bad dance moves, and pani puri. Now she lives in Colorado, where she's on a mission to (gently) coerce her family to watch all 3,220 Bollywood movies she claims as her favourite.
