Title: 21 Things To Expect From The Simon Snow Trilogy (Carry On, Wayward Son, Any Way the Wind Blows)
Author: Rainbow Rowell
Publisher: PanMacmillan
“Just when you think you're having a scene without Simon, he drops in to remind you that everyone else is a supporting character in his catastrophe.”
Simon Snow just wants to relax and savour his last year at the Watford
School of Magicks, but no one will let him.
His girlfriend broke up with
him, his best friend is a pest and his mentor keeps trying to hide him
away in the mountains where maybe he'll be safe.
Simon can't even enjoy
the fact that his room-mate and longtime nemesis is missing, because he
can't stop worrying about the evil git.
Plus there are ghosts.
And
vampires.
And actual evil things trying to shut Simon down.
When you're
the most powerful magician the world has ever known, you never get to
relax and savour anything.
The Simon Snow trilogy has officially come to an end, and I am in mourning. I fell in love with Carry On back in 2015, and since then Simon and Baz have held a special place in my heart. I have truly loved all three books, as I know many others have too.
But for anyone who is yet to read the series, or has maybe only read the first, today I shall be providing you with a list of 21 things to expect from the series. They’ll be fairly vague and not in chronological order to avoid any major spoilers, but hopefully some of these things will call out to you and encourage you to pick up the series.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
1. An Enemies to Lovers romance
2. A well-dressed vampire, with a preference for floral suits

5. Realistic portrayals of depression and self-doubt
6. An abundance of scones (cherry scones to be precise)
7. Messy (in the best way) characters who get themselves involved in some crazy antics (think kidnappings, attacks from other magical creatures, etc…)
8. A Renaissance Fair
9. Chosen One trope (with a twist)
10. A Road Trip that goes awry
11. Goat herding
12. Strong personal and relationship arcs
13. Comedy and snark
14. Mysteries
15. Wholesome romances, but also wholesome friendships
16. Multiple Villains
17. Adventure and fun – truly never a dull moment
18. A whole lotta kissing
19. Prophecies
20. A Magical School
And last, but certainly not least,
